Here, the firewall is being readied to paint
before the engine is put in place.
The engine and transmission are back from being rebuilt.
Work on the engine was done by Joe Phillips of Gouldsboro, PA
and the transmission work was done by
Sworen's Transmission in Marshall's Creek, PA.
I've prepped the engine and I'm ready to paint it.
I used Bill Hirsch Engine enamel for the enigine
and Por 15 on the transmission.
Various shots of the finished product!
These are "lift handles" used to help set the engine and
transmission in place. The two handles are screwed into spark
plug holes. As the spark plug holes are off center, the engine
would tilt when lifted and that's why an angle iron has been bolted
to one handle. This keeps the chain in the proper position to lift
the engine evenly. These handles were made by Joe Phillips. They
lift both the engine and the transmission together as a unit.
The engine and transmission are now in place. Note the new
copper 1/2-inch tubing made up for the heater. This tubing can be
bent with a pipe bender. The original tubing was iron and now
more expensive and hard to find.
Thanks for checking in on the progress! I'll update as the work continues...

Kaiserly, Allan
